TUESDAY 13TH MARCH 2018
Will members please note that due to necessary work there will be no Electricity to the Main Clubhouse and toilets during the day.
The power will be back on in the evening for the Tuesday Talk!
During the day there will still be power to the Sun Room, Members' Galley and the boat park and members' workshop.
The Annual Joint River Safety Meeting due to be held at the Clubhouse this evening(Wednesday 28th February) at 7.30pm has been cancelled due to the weather conditions. It will be rescheduled later in the year
There have been a few changes in the BSC Cadet Committee.
Cadet Commodore James Crook is standing down as he has been accepted into the Army. Well done James! We are sorry you won’t be with us for much of this year, but good luck and we hope to see you sometime out on the water.
Stepping up to the job as the new Cadet Commodore we are really pleased to have Lizzy Hood who was runner up in the election process.
Stepping up as Honorary Cadet Secretary is Lola Andrews to take on the role that Lizzy would have been doing. So, with Vice Commodore Jamie Norman, and all the Cadet Committee members, that now completes the revised Cadet Committee Dream Team for 2018.
I am really looking forward to working with you guys in my last year as Cadet Skipper before Rob takes over next year.
Due to the great efforts that have been made by the members who have turned out to the work parties this winter. We have decided to cancel the one scheduled for 18th March as we aim to complete our jobs list at the working party this Sunday.
However, can you please add into your diary 21st July, as we have decided that it wopuld be beneficial to hold one in the middle of the year when the weather is better. This is to tidy up the club before Cadet week and Club week so that it is looking good for these two weeks when it is seen by the most people.
The following dates are set for members to attend and attach their mooring buoy with assistance of the work boat.
Buoys, shackles and swivels will be on sale at the start of each work party, with the equipment available to paint / repaint your buoys number prior to launch. Buoys must not be put out without your allocated mooring number clearly displayed.
Once the team is out on the water the 'shop' will be shut!
Sunday 18th March Meet at 1100 (HW 1325)
Friday 23rd March Meet at 1400 (HW 1625)
Thursday 29th March Meet at 0830 (HW 1100)
Friday 4th May Meet at 1330 (HW 1610)
All members with allocated moorings will be aware of the bi-annual moorings inspection report which was sent to you in July 2017. All those who replied are currently having the repairs carried out, and will be advised shortly, (with invoice) once completed. If the repairs involved swivels and buoys these can be purchased at one of the above work parties.
To date there are still a number of members who have not replied regarding repair work which is advised on their mooring. If you are one of these, please do not expect your repairs to be carried out when you suddenly decide it's time to launch your boat. I have holidays booked in April and May, and together with my work commitments I will not be able to do repairs after March.
